Harpenden Classics on The Common, in association with Harpenden Rotary Club

Updated: Dec 17, 2018

The Unit Exchange Stand at Harpenden Classics on the Common

July 25th 2018 saw Unit Exchange attending it's first ever show! This is a special one as growing up in the surrounding areas the members of our team have attended this, albeit privately, since we were old enough to walk.

As the show means so much to Unit Exchange, we knew we had to pull out all the strings to ensure we impressed the crowds. We decided on a Bentley Turbo R, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, TVR 3000m (all kindly lent by customers), and one of our team's Reliant Scimitar GTC.

As per usual, the other vehicles on display were fantastic, the show prides itself on a wide range of automobiles and motorbikes and with over 950 parked on the common it did not disappoint in the slightest.

It was a pleasure seeing so many of our clients at the show, with a high level of praise from many which really reinforces our feelings of job satisfaction. We even spotted a few other cars that we have worked on ourselves!

The Unit Exchange stand drew a great crowd all day, with many visitors taking an interest in all the vehicles we had brought with us. The show enabled us to gain some fairly high profile clients, for which we have reconditioned Ferrari, Lancia and Jaguar units.

It is important to note all the proceeds of the event go directly to charity! In 2017, over £33,000 was collected and donated to good causes. The beneficiaries of the 2018 event included Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, Keech Hospice Care, Macmillan Cancer Support and Shelterbox Trust.

Overall, it was a wonderful day and one that proved to be very worthwhile. Harpenden Classics on the Common never fails to impress and with over 10,000 members of the public it is a testimony to the organisation skills of the Rotary Club, and the charity of the local people. If you are local and have never attended we thoroughly recommend a visit in 2019.
